Our Staff at Pre-K in the Park

Mrs. Heather Stewart

Director of Pre-K in the Park

Mrs. Heather is the founder, owner and director of Apple Blossom Bunch Day Care which includes “Apple House” and “Pre-K  in the Park”. She is the morning lead teacher at Pre-K in the Park. The philosophy and curriculum of both programs were created and developed by Mrs. Heather. Her motto ‘whole child care’ is supported in all aspects of the school. As a director to her amazing staff, Mrs. Heather holds her staff to this motto, because in a busy world, young children deserve the very best care. After all, childhood is only a one-time experience!

Mrs. Heather has a B.A. from Long Island University.  Her thesis/final project for this degree was the creation of her outdoor  kindergarten classroom curriculum so it was only natural that she adapted this curriculum through the last ten years to form what Pre-K in the Park is now. Heather has worked with children for over twenty years, both as a mother and an educator. Mrs. Heather is a certified postpartum doula, and a certified Lifeway teacher. She brings to Pre-K in the Park  her unique gifts of storytelling, singing, guitar, puppetry and the design of the curriculum, one that balances the unique nature based, felid trip learning through life approach and academic rich curriculum . Mrs. Heather  holds the academic components of Pre-K in the Park to high standards supporting both teachers during lesson times.
